Global Community Engagement
Take from the society, contribute to the society. Phihong is committed to fulfilling our social responsibility with care and sincerity. Our social service plan is based on 3 major areas of "Community Friendliness", "Care for the Disadvantaged " and "Ecological Environment".
Community Service and Engagement
Phihong upholds the principles of “local prosperity, sustainable contribution, and social inclusion,” viewing community involvement as a critical component of corporate sustainable development. It has established a systematic management mechanism in accordance with GRI 413 “Local Communities” guidelines. Through stakeholder communication, local needs identification, and risk and opportunity assessment, based on community needs and Sustainable Development targets, we focus on four main aspects: “the ecological environment,” “caring for the underprivileged,” “friendly neighborhoods,” and “supporting education and sports development.” Various community participation actions are promoted, and the headquarters is responsible for overall planning. Each operation site executes based on local characteristics to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of resource investment.
Phihong promotes community engagement centered around its operational sites, including Guishan District in Taoyuan City, Yongkang District in Tainan City, as well as Dongguan in China and Haiphong in Vietnam. The Company develops corresponding public welfare initiatives based on the operational scale, employee distribution, and local needs of each site. At the same time, considering the trans-regional nature of environmental and social topics ( such as marine pollution ) and the extension of employees’ living areas, the scope is also appropriately expanded to neighboring regions ( such as Linkou District, New Taipei City ) to enhance overall social impact.
Through Stakeholder Engagement and internal professional evaluation, Phihong systematically identifies key community topics related to operational sites and transforms them into concrete action strategies: In response to environmental pollution and the need for ecological conservation, we promote coastal adoption and beach cleanup activities. To address the lack of employment and educational resources for the underprivileged, we establish Long Term support mechanisms ( such as employment for the visually impaired, public welfare procurement, and scholarship programs). To tackle the issue of limited development opportunities for youths, we continually invest ingrassroots sports development. Therefore, transform one-time charitable activities into long-term sustainable programs to strengthen the common prosperity between corporations and the community.
To encourage employees to participate in philanthropic activities, Phihong upholds the core principle of giving back to society by incorporating a volunteer leave system into the “work rules.” This officially integrates social engagement into the human resource management mechanism, demonstrating the company’s commitment to social responsibility. Employees who participate in government registered public welfare or charitable activities and provide proof of service can accumulate service hours. For every 6 hours completed, they may apply for 1 day of volunteer leave, supporting them to engage in social services outside of their job content with peace of mind. In the 2025 Year, volunteer leave accumulated to 81 hours, demonstrating employees’ active participation in public welfare activities. Through systematic support and cultural guidance, Phihong continues to advocate for employee care for society, integrating philanthropic participation into Corporate Culture, gradually expanding Positive influence, and creating long-term social value.
Through a systematic Community Engagement Strategy, Phihong has successfully transformed corporate resources precisely into social capital. In 2025, we not only established a Positive cycle of “supporting the disadvantaged” and “local inclusion,” but also attracted over a thousand participants from employees through diverse philanthropic actions, transforming the company’s Mission into a powerful internal cohesion. In the future, we will regard community involvement as an integral part of our core governance system, closely aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through systematic management, we ensure that every social investment creates Shared Value (CSV), realizing the vision of symbiotic prosperity for both the company and society.
Phihong Group actively extends the concept of Social Care to its overseas plants by establishing charity clubs and organizing plant activities. Employees are encouraged to regularly engage in local initiatives such as companionship, environmental cleanups, mountain cleaning, and material donations, thus providing Actual support to underserved communities.
On December 3, during the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities,” a themed activity called “Love as Wings, Let Love Fly” was launched to convey sincere care for friends with physical and mental disabilities. At the same time, the “Accompanied by Love, Walking with Warmth” activity was organized to distribute daily necessities to elderly individuals in the Community. In addition, the plant actively engages in green initiatives, guiding employees to participate in environmental protection and mountain-cleaning activities, thereby comprehensively enhancing their ecological conservation awareness.
A regular care mechanism is adopted, organizing four community charity events each quarter to deliver warmth to local elderly individuals living alone and children with disabilities. In addition to giving back to society externally, the Haiphong Facility (PHV) also extends warmth internally by providing immediate emergency assistance to the families of employees encountering unexpected difficulties.
